Overview - Differential

NOTE:

To install, warm the inner races/tapered roller bearings to approximately 100 °C (212 °F) with Inductive Heater: VAS6414  . Wear protective gloves.

Replace both tapered roller bearings together.

Adjust the differential when replacing the tapered roller bearing, differential housing, transmission housing or clutch housing. Refer to ADJUSTMENT OVERVIEW .

  1. Transmission Housing
  2. Shim
  3. Outer Race/Tapered Roller Bearing
  4. Inner Race/Tapered Roller Bearing
  5. Differential
    • With final drive gear wheel
    • Thrust washer union fitted to differential housing. Refer to Figure
    • Spring pin hole adapted to the length of the spring pin. Refer to Figure
    • Allocation. Refer to the Parts Information.
  6. Inner Race/Tapered Roller Bearing
  7. Outer Race/Tapered Roller Bearing
  8. Clutch Housing
  9. Seal with Sleeve
    • For the right flange shaft
    • If the seal is damaged, then replace both the seal and sleeve. Refer to RIGHT SEAL, REPLACING .
  10. Bolt
    • 25 Nm
    • Install with the threaded piece.
  11. Flange Shaft
  12. Flange Shaft Pressure Spring
  13. Thrust Washer
    • Installation position. Refer to Figure.
  14. Tapered Ring
    • With grooves for the thrust washer
    • Installation position: taper faces the differential housing
  15. Circlip
    • Holds the tapered ring, the thrust washer and the pressure spring when the flange shaft is removed
  16. Seal
