Selector Mechanism Overview, Through 02.09
WARNING:
Move the selector lever into the "P" position and set the parking brake before working with the engine running.
- Selector Handle with Cover
- Do not remove the handle unnecessarily. For emergency release, only the cover must be removed. Refer to SELECTOR LEVER, MANUAL RELEASE .
- Button in the side: Pull the button out of the handle just far enough until there is a small gap between the handle and the button. The button will lock in this position once it is released. Prevent the button from being pressed in using a cable tie or wire.
- Button in the front: do not push the button in. Should the button get pushed in, then bring it back to the installed position. Refer to HANDLE BUTTON, MOVING INTO THE INSTALLED POSITION .
- Selector Lever Mechanism
- With the shift lock solenoid -N110-.
- Emergency release, refer to SELECTOR LEVER, MANUAL RELEASE .
- Removing and installing:
-- Remove the center bracket.
-- Remove the cable from the transmission and from the selector mechanism. Refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE, THROUGH 02.09 .
-- If necessary: Disconnect or remove the exhaust system components. Refer to [For engine(s) CCTA, CBFA] EXHAUST SYSTEM COMPONENTS .
-- Remove the heat shield under the vehicle.
-- Adjust the selector lever cable after installing. Refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE, ADJUSTING .
- Bolt with Spring
- 3 Nm
- Pin
- Removing, refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE, THROUGH 02.09 .
- Do not lubricate.
- Retainer Plate
- Always replace after removing.
- Nut
- 9 Nm.
- Quantity: 4
- Selector Housing
- With seal.
- Selector Lever Cable
- Do not grease the cable.
- Removing and installing, refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE, THROUGH 02.09 .
- Checking, refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE, CHECKING .
- Adjusting, refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE, ADJUSTING .
- Lock Washer
- Always replace after removing
- Lock Washer
- Always replace after removing.
- Nut
- 8 Nm.
