Selector Lever Cable, Adjusting

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

The selector lever cable must always be adjusted if:

Adjusting 

-- Move the selector lever into the "P" position.

Move the lever on the transmission into the "P" position.

The lever on the transmission must be pushed all the way to the rear.

-- Pull the lever forward.

-- Push the lever to the rear

"P" is in the second detent.

NOTE:

Make sure the transmission is actually in the "P" position (parking lock is engaged) if raising the vehicle. It must not be possible to turn the front wheels.

The transmission is also in the "P" position if the vehicle does not move with wheels spinning freely.

-- Install the cable with a loose adjustment bolt -arrow- and the new lock washers -A and B-.

-- Lightly tap the button in the handle forward and backward and make sure to keep the handle in the position "P" position.

This locates the cable core in its optimal position.

-- Tighten the adjustment bolt to 13 Nm.

This ends the adjustment.
