Driver-Side Inflator Module: Removal

  1. Before proceeding, read air bag service precautions section. See TESTING - SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM  .
  2. Driver-side inflator module is located on steering wheel hub. Ensure front wheels face straight ahead. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove right side trim cover from steering wheel and 2 horn wire connectors. Remove 2 Torx screws. Remove inflator module from steering wheel. See Fig 1 .
