Testing - System Operation Check

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1996 Suzuki X-90 and 1996 Suzuki Sidekick. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

If system is functioning normally, AIR BAG indicator light should flash 7 times when ignition switch is first turned to ON position. If AIR BAG indicator light does not function as described, perform diagnostics. See DIAGNOSIS  . Air bag system faults are usually due to a disconnected/loose electrical connector caused by previous service on vehicle. Always check Yellow air bag system connector at base of steering column and behind glove box.
