Lower Control Arm, Removing And Installing: Installing
Install in reverse order of removal.
-- Coat the control arm hex fitting with assembly paste.
-- Insert the control arm -1- in the rear curb weight position in the mounting bracket -2- and pivot upward -arrow-.
-- Tighten the bolt -arrow-.
Tighten the bolt -arrow- and nuts in curb weight position. Refer to WHEEL BEARING IN CURB WEIGHT, LIFTING VEHICLES WITH COIL SPRING, FRONT AXLE .
Further installation is the reverse order of removal.
The level control system sensor lever must point toward vehicle exterior.
The thread on the level control system sensor must be installed into the exterior hole in the control arm. The retaining tab on the level control system sensor must engage into the inner hole in order to assure a correct installation position.
-- For vehicles with a level control system sensor, perform the basic setting using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
Tightening Specifications
- Refer to OVERVIEW - LOWER CONTROL ARM AND BALL JOINT
- Refer to OVERVIEW - FRONT LEVEL CONTROL SYSTEM SENSOR
- Wheel Bolts. Refer to the appropriate Service Information .
- Pendulum support bolts. Refer to PENDULUM SUPPORT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING - 2.0L , PENDULUM SUPPORT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING - 3.6L .
- Noise insulation bolts. Refer to OVERVIEW - NOISE INSULATION .
- Double clamp for exhaust pipes. Refer to OVERVIEW - MUFFLER - 2.0L , OVERVIEW - MUFFLER - 3.6L .
- Exhaust system to subframe. Refer to OVERVIEW - MUFFLER - 2.0L , OVERVIEW - MUFFLER - 3.6L .
