DVD Changer. Removing And Installing
Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Radio Removal Tool: T10057
- Fiber-Optic Repair Set - Connector Protective Caps: VAS6223/9 .
The DVD is only installed with the "RNS 850".
The DVD changer is an audio and video player for up to 6 DVDs or CDs.
The following file types can be played back:
- Audio CD
- Video CD
- Audio DVD
- Video DVD
- CD/DVD with MP3 or WMA files
The data sent via the MOST bus is then received in PCM audio (stereo or 5.1).
Removing:
Perform the Following Steps:
-- Turn off the ignition and all electrical equipment.
-- Open the lid in the luggage compartment in the right side panel trim in the direction of -arrow-.
-- Insert the Radio Removal Tools: T10057 into the release slots -arrows- until they engage.
-- Pull the DVD changer via the gripping rings of the release tools in the direction of -arrow- out of the installation frame.
-- Disconnect the harness connectors from the DVD changer.
-- Disconnect the fiber-optic cable from the DVD changer and attach the Fiber-Optic Repair Set - Connector Protective Caps: VAS6223/9 to the disconnected fiber-optic cable connection.
Fiber-optic cable is very delicate!
The fiber-optic cable must not be kinked or significantly bent!
The bending radius must not be less than 25 mm.
A kinked fiber-optic cable is no longer usable, data transfer via kinked fiber-optic cable is faulty!
Please do not remove the protective caps from the ends of the fiber-optic cable until the fiber-optic cable is connected to the intended unit.
Installing:
Install in reverse order of removal.
When replacing radio navigation system control modules, it is necessary to adapt the replaced control modules to the vehicle. If this is not performed, component protection is activated for these control modules so that they do not work or only on a highly limited basis.
Adapt the control module. Refer to ANTI-THEFT COMPONENT PROTECTION .
