Anti-Theft Component Protection

When replacing radio navigation system control modules, it is necessary to adapt the replaced control modules to the vehicle. If this is not performed, component protection is activated for these control modules so that they do not work or only on a highly limited basis.

The following radio navigation system components are provided with component protection:

Front Information Display Control Head -J685-
Information Electronics Control Module 1 -J794-
Radio -R-
DVD Changer -R161-
Digital Sound System Control Module -J525-
TV Tuner -R78-

Since the component protection works with various control modules, the Guided Fault Finding start menu is not allocated to a control module. It is located directly under the OBD-capable system.

Adapt Control Modules:

In the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester select "Guided Fault Finding" .

On the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester, select "Guided Fault Finding" .

After all control modules have been checked:

-- Press the "Go to" button.

-- Select "Functions/Component selection".

-- Select "Body".

-- Select "Electrical Equipment".

-- Select "01-OBD-capable system".

-- Select "component protection functions".
