Component Location Overview - Abs/Esp

  1. Front Speed Sensor
    • Left Front ABS Wheel Speed Sensor -G47-
    • Right Front ABS Wheel Speed Sensor -G45-
  2. Brake Pressure Unit
    • With the following integrated components
      • Brake Master Cylinder
      • Electro-hydraulic brake booster
      • ABS Control Module -J104-
      • ABS Control Module 2 -J1242-
      • ABS Hydraulic Unit -N55-
      • ESP
      • Brake Lamp Switch
    • The components cannot be replaced separately
    • If faulty replace the brake pressure line. Refer to BRAKE PRESSURE LINE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
    • Refer to OVERVIEW - BRAKE PRESSURE UNIT
  3. Switch Module in Instrument Panel, Center -EX22-
  4. Front Information Display Control Head 2 -J1060-
    • With hill descent control button (equipped on some models)
  5. Electromechanical Parking Brake Button -E538-
  6. Brake Pad Wear Sensor
    • In the respective inner brake pad
      • Left Front Brake Pad Wear Sensor -G34-
      • Right Front Brake Pad Wear Sensor -G35-
      • Right Rear Brake Pad Wear Sensor -G37-
    • In the left rear there is no brake pad wear sensor installed
    • Overview. Refer to OVERVIEW - FRONT BRAKES, 1LN, 1LP, 1ZT, 1ZV .
  7. Rear Speed Sensor
    • Right Rear ABS Wheel Speed Sensor -G44-
    • Left Rear ABS Wheel Speed Sensor -G46-
  8. Instrument Cluster with Instrument Cluster Control Module -J285-
    • with the following integrated indicator lamps:
      • ABS Indicator Lamp -K47-
      • Brake System Indicator Lamp -K118-
      • Electromechanical Parking Brake Indicator Lamp -K213-
    • The indicator lamps cannot be replaced separately
    • Replace the instrument cluster if faulty. Refer to OVERVIEW - INSTRUMENT CLUSTER .
