Overview - Operating Cables: Notes

NOTE:
Lubricate the bearing areas and the sliding surfaces. Refer to the Parts information for the grease allocation.
- Gearshift Shaft with Gearshift Cover
- Sliding Shoe
- Relay Lever
- Allocation. Refer to the Parts information.
- Installation position. Refer to → Selector Lever/Relay Lever Installed Position .
- Adjust the gearshift mechanism after installing. Refer to SELECTOR MECHANISM, ADJUSTING " " .
- Remove the plastic relay lever together with the cable retainer. Refer to → Remove the Relay Lever and the Cable Retainer. .
- Install the plastic relay lever together with the cable retainer. Refer to → Install the Relay Lever and the Cable Retainer Together .
- Cable Retainer
- For attaching the selector cable to the relay lever
- Adjust the gearshift mechanism after installing. Refer to SELECTOR MECHANISM, ADJUSTING "" .
- Do not interchange, cable locking mechanisms for selector cable on linkage lever and for shift cable on transmission shift lever are different
- Removing from Plastic Relay Lever. Refer to → Installing
- Installing on Plastic Relay Lever. Refer to → Installing the Selector Cable Retainer on the Relay Lever
- Allocation. Refer to → Cable Retainer Allocation

- Cable Retainer
- For attaching the shift cable to the transmission shift lever
- Adjust the gearshift mechanism after installing. Refer to SELECTOR MECHANISM, ADJUSTING "" .
- Do not interchange, cable locking mechanisms for selector cable on linkage lever and for shift cable on transmission shift lever are different
- Allocation. Refer to → Cable Retainer Allocation .
- Lock Washer
- Replace after removing

- Be careful not to damage the cables when removing them
- Selector Cable
- Attach to the cable retainer -Item 4- → Item 4 .
- Installation position. Refer to SELECTOR MECHANISM INSTALLATION POSITION " .
- Attach to the shift cable with a cable tie. Refer to → Cable Tie Installation Locations
- Removing and Installing. Refer to GEARSHIFT CABLE AND SELECTOR CABLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING " " .
- Gearshift Cable
- Attach to the cable retainer -Item 5- → Item 5 .
- Installation position. Refer to → SELECTOR MECHANISM INSTALLATION POSITION " " .
- Attach to the selector cable with a cable tie. Refer to → Cable Tie Installation Locations G
- Removing and Installing. Refer to → GEARSHIFT CABLE AND SELECTOR CABLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING " " .
- Selector Housing
- Lock Washer
- Replace after removing
- Be careful not to damage the cables when removing them
- Cable Bracket
- Adjust after installing the gearshift mechanism. Refer to →SELECTOR MECHANISM, ADJUSTING " " .
