Overview - Gearshift Lever and Gearshift Housing: Notes

NOTE:
Lubricate the bearing areas and the sliding surfaces. Refer to the Parts information for the grease allocation.
- Base Plate
- Replace after removing
- Bend the tabs in order to remove
- Attached to the gearshift housing. Refer to → Attach the Base Plate to the Gearshift Housing
- Seal
- Replace after removing
- Selector Lever
- Can be removed and installed with the shift lever guide installed -Item 15- 15 .
- Washer
- Slide out of shift lever as far as stop -arrow-.
- Lock Washer
- Replace after removing
- Be careful not to damage the cables when removing them
- Selector Cable
- Pry off of selector bracket
- Press onto selector bracket inside the shift mechanism
- Installation position. Refer to → "

- Pry off of shift lever guide
- Press onto shift lever guide inside the shift mechanism

- Insulation
- Bearing Shell
- Replace after removing
- Will get damaged when being removed
- Bushing
- Lock Washer
- Removing and Installing. Refer to → Removing and Installing the Lock Washer .
- Pressure Spring
- Removing and Installing. Refer to → Removing and Installing the Lock Washer .

- Gearshift Lever Guide
- Nut
- M 6: 8 Nm
- M8: 25 Nm

- Between the gearshift housing and the underbody
- Replace after removing the gearshift housing
