Selector Lever Cable, Checking

Short description

The selector lever cable must be disconnected from the transmission in order to check it for ease of movement. Do not let the removed end touch anything.

When selector lever is moved and the selector lever cable is installed again on the transmission.

After that, selector lever cable must be adjusted. Refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE, ADJUSTING .

Do not lubricate the selector lever cable connections!

Checking 

-- Move the selector lever into >>P<< .

-- Loosen the bolt -2- on the selector lever cable -1- .

-- Pry the selector lever cable -1- off the selector shaft lever -3- using a wrench -2- .

-- Squeeze the retainers in the -direction of the arrows- and remove the selector lever cable from the cable bracket .

-- Move the selector lever from >>P<< through >>S<< and back to >>P<< several times.

-- Reinstall the selector level cable with the >>loosened<< adjustment screw.

-- Adjust the selector lever cable. Refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE, ADJUSTING .
