Selector Lever Cable, Adjusting

Special tools and workshop equipment required

The selector lever cable must always be adjusted if:

Adjusting

-- Move the selector lever into the "P" position.

-- Move the selector shaft lever -3- into the "P" position (push the lever to the rear).

WARNING:

Make sure the parking lock is latched.

-- From underneath the vehicle, rotate both front wheels in the same direction and at the same time until the parking lock audibly engages.

-- Tap the handle on the selector lever back and forth gently but do not move it out of the "P" position.

This places the selector lever cable core in its optimal position.

-- Tighten the adjustment bolt -2- to 13 Nm.
