MULTIFUNCTION Transmission Range Switch -F125-: Installing
Install in reverse order of removal. Pay attention to the following:
-- Install the multifunction switch -4- to the selector shaft -6-.
-- Install the bolts -5- hand tight.
-- Install the washers -2 and 3- onto the selector shaft -6-.
-- Install the washer -2- with the tabs facing up.
-- Install the washer -2- with the long narrow guide into the long narrow depression in the selector shaft -6-.
-- Tighten the nut -1- to 7 Nm.
-- Secure the nut -1- by bending the tabs on the lock washer downward -2-.
-- Replace the lock washer if several of the tabs break off while being bent.
-- Adjust the multifunction transmission range switch before mounting the lever on the selector shaft. Refer to MULTIFUNCTION TRANSMISSION RANGE SWITCH, ADJUSTING .
-- Place the selector shaft lever -3- onto the selector shaft -4-.
-- Move the selector shaft lever -3- into the "P" position. This means, push the selector lever -3- opposite the drive direction until it stops.
-- Move the selector lever -3- into the "N" position. Push the lever -3- two positions forward in the direction of travel.
-- Install the spring washer -2- and the nut -1- onto the selector shaft -4-.
-- Tighten the nut -1- to 13 Nm.
With a 6 Cylinder Engine:
-- Install the coolant expansion tank. Refer to item 1 in COOLANT HOSE CONNECTION DIAGRAM for BLV engines or item 8 in COOLANT HOSE CONNECTION DIAGRAM for CCTA engines .
-- Connect the battery ground cable. Refer to Removal and Installation .
