HVAC Unit Removal and Installation: Removal

  1. Recover refrigerant from A/C system referring to "RECOVERY " in Operation Procedure for Refrigerant Charge  .
  2. Drain engine coolant.
  3. Remove hose bands (1), and then disconnect heater hoses (2) from HVAC unit.
  4. Remove liquid pipe bolt (3), and then disconnect suction hose (4) and liquid pipe (5) from expansion valve (6).

  5. Remove right side cowl top garnish, see FRONT FENDER COVER/COWL TOP GARNISH REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  6. Remove nuts (1).

  7. Remove center console box, see CENTER CONSOLE BOX REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  8. Remove instrument panel with steering support member, see INSTRUMENT PANEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  9. Remove nut (1) and rear duct (2), and then remove HVAC unit (3).
