Precautions for Servicing Wheels and Tires: Notes

WARNING: Do not mix different types of tires on the same vehicle such as radial, bias and bias-belted tires except in emergencies, because vehicle handling may be seriously affected and may result in loss of control.

Repairs by any means including welding, heating or peening are not permitted. All damaged wheels should be replaced.
There are two types of vehicle, one with TPMS and the other without TPMS. Check which type of vehicle is being serviced, referring to IDENTIFICATION OF TPMS-EQUIPPED VEHICLES before servicing its tires or wheels. Failure to follow the specified procedure when servicing tires or wheels of a vehicle equipped with TPMS may cause damage to the tire pressure sensors.
