Engine Control Module (ECM) Removal and Installation: Notes

CAUTION: As ECM consists of precision parts, be careful not to expose it to excessive shock.

NOTE: If ECM is replaced with either new one or used one, perform the following procedure. See PROCEDURE AFTER ECM REPLACEMENT .

Register VIN data to ECM. See VIN REGISTRATION .
For vehicle equipped with immobilizer control system, register immobilizer transponder code to ECM. See REGISTRATION OF THE IGNITION KEY .
Calibrate throttle valve position. See ELECTRIC THROTTLE CONTROL SYSTEM CALIBRATION .
