Diagnosis Procedure

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

Step Action YES NO
CHECK GROUND CONNECTIONS 
  1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
  2. Loosen and retighten three ground screws on the body. Refer to [POWER SUPPLY AND GROUND CIRCUIT CHECK ].

OK or NG 
GO TO 2. Repair or replace ground connections.
CHECK ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR 
Refer to [P0125 ECT SENSOR ].
OK or NG 
GO TO 3. Replace engine coolant temperature sensor.
CHECK THERMOSTAT OPERATION 
When the engine is cold [lower than 70°C (158°F)] condition, grasp lower radiator hose and confirm that the engine coolant does not flow.
OK or NG 
GO TO 4. Repair or replace thermostat. Refer to [WATER INLET AND THERMOSTAT ASSEMBLY: REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ]
CHECK INTERMITTENT INCIDENT 
Refer to [SERVICE INFORMATION FOR ELECTRICAL INCIDENT: INTERMITTENT INCIDENT ]
