Assembly Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Suzuki Swift +, 2008 Pontiac Wave, and 2008 Chevrolet Aveo. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Use a vise in order to hold the steering knuckle.

  3. Insert the rod (2) J-36661-2 (CH-46560-04) through the following:
    1. The ball bearing J-217801 (CH-46560-06)
    2. The wheel bearing installer adapter (1) DT-47543  (DW-340-120-04). See Special Tools .
    3. The NEW wheel bearing
    4. The wheel bearing installer adapter (4) DT-47542  (DW340-120-03). See Special Tools .
  4. Install the nut (3) J-21474-4 (CH-46560-05) to the rod J-36661-2 (CH-46560-04).

  6. Install the wheel bearing to the knuckle.
  7. Remove the special tools from the knuckle.
  8. Install the retaining ring to the knuckle.
  9. Install the brake shield. Refer to Front Brake Shield Replacement .

  11. Insert the rod (1) J-36661-2 (CH-46560-04) through the following:
    1. The wheel bearing installer adapter (3) DT-47542  (DW340-120-03). See Special Tools .
    2. The hub
    3. The wheel hub replacer adapter (4) DT-47540  (DW340-120-01). See Special Tools .
    4. The ball bearing (2) J-217801 (CH-46560-06)
  12. Install the nut (5) to the rod J-36661-2 (CH-46560-04).
  13. Install the hub to the wheel bearing.
  14. Remove the special tools from the knuckle.
  15. Verify the hub rotates smoothly.
  16. Install the wheel hub, bearing, knuckle, and brake shield as an assembly. Refer to Steering Knuckle Replacement .
  17. Lower the vehicle.
