DTC P0703 EXPLAINED

CONDITION

Automatic Transmission DTC P0703 is present.

CAUSE

Service brake is not applied. If the service brake is not applied when checking an automatic transmission DTC, the TCM automatically sets a DTC P0703. This is a normal operating condition of the TCM.

CORRECTION

If a DTC P0703 is present when checking the Automatic Transmission DTCs apply the service brake. The DTC should disappear. If the DTC does not disappear follow the troubleshooting flow chart in the appropriate Service Manual.

NOTE: The DTC P0703 will not illuminate the MIL. If the MIL is illuminated there should be other DTCs present.
