TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN

Reference Number(s): TS 04 12056, Date of Issue:  December 05, 2006
SUZUKI: All Forenza Sedan/Wagon, Reno (RQ420)
SECTION: Transmission

CONDITION

When attempting to remove the ignition key from the ignition switch tumbler, the key will not turn to return the ignition switch to the locked position to allow key removal.

CAUSE

The park switch in the gear selector control lever may have a broken anchoring tab causing the switch contact to stay open. This open circuit prevents the ignition tumbler solenoid from allowing the tumbler to rotate to the locked position to allow for ignition key removal.

CORRECTION

Inspect the park position switch located in the selector control lever assembly for looseness. See instructions below. Replace the Selector Lever Solenoid Assembly (28610-85Z00) if the park switch has come out of its designated location.
