DESCRIPTION

PLASTIC SHEET MODIFICATION AND MODIFICATION OF SPLASH GUARDS

CONDITION

Plastic sheet protector hard to remove.
Depressions in the edge guard protector.

CAUSE

Plastic sheet protection not removed within 5 days of delivery to dealer.
The rear door splash guard rubs on the front door when opening the rear door.

CORRECTION

Remove within 5 days from delivery to dealer.
Install countermeasure part(s) as listed in this bulletin.

REVISION

Addition of information on removing the plastic sheet protection from the side sill splash guards.

SERVICE INFORMATION

This bulletin is to inform you of the modification in the splash guards for the September, 1995 production and later Sidekick Sport. If you are experiencing the conditions listed as 2. above, replace the early type splash guard(s) with the late type listed in this bulletin as needed only.

REMOVAL OF PLASTIC SHEET FROM SIDE SILL SPLASH GUARDS

Removing the plastic sheet protection from the side sill splash guards, see Fig 1 , items 9 and #10. The plastic sheet protection must be removed from the side sill splash guards within five days from the date the vehicle was first delivered to the dealership or during the pre-delivery inspection, which ever occurs first. If the plastic sheet protection is not removed within the specified time period, it will become increasingly more difficult to remove.

NOTE: See Fig 1 . Reference 11-1 (the longest piece) will be supplied as the Edge Guard Protector. When ordering items 11-2, 11-3, and 11-4, order the Edge Guard Protector (item 11-1) and trim it to the specified lengths listed in Fig 1 . Reference 11-1 is the proper length and DOES NOT NEED to be cut.
