CONDITION

Noise from front wheel spindles during extremely cold climate.

CAUSE

Install updated parts as listed in this bulletin.

This bulletin is to inform you of the modification of the front wheel spindle which has been carried out since February 1996 production. If you experience a noise from the front spindles during extremely cold climates, replace the front wheel spindles with the updated parts listed in this bulletin.

SERVICE INFORMATION

When assembling the LATE style spindle and its related parts, be sure to do the following:

1. Make sure that the bearing is seated at the rear of the spindle and that its outer surface is flush with the thrust washer mating surface to no more than 0-1 mm below the thrust washer mating surface. See Fig 2 .
2. Apply lithium grease to the roller bearing surface, the recessed portion of the wheel spindle and both sides of the thrust washer See Fig 3 .
