Install updated parts as listed in this bulletin.
This bulletin is to inform you of the modification of the inner parts for the 4-Speed Automatic Transmission which has been carried out since January 1997 production. The modifications listed in this bulletin were introduced to reduce gear shift shock when shifting from Neutral to Drive, Neutral to Reverse, and First to Second gears. See Fig 1 . When rebuilding the transmission, please use the parts as listed in this bulletin.

SECOND BRAKE ACCUMULATOR SPRING PISTON'S PERSONAL HISTORY
Three types of A/T assemblies were manufactured with different pistons and springs, noted in Fig 2 as (1), (2) and (3). These assemblies are identifiable by the following criteria:
- Spring color/length.
- Piston shape.
- Serial number of A/T assembly.
