Test D: No Output From Diagnostic Connector

  1. Ensure jumper wire is properly installed between diagnostic connector No. 1 ground terminal and diagnostic connector No. 2 diagnostic switch terminal. See Figure . If jumper wire is properly installed, go to next step.
  2. Remove jumper wire from diagnostic connectors. Turn ignition off. Disconnect ABS control module 26-pin harness connector E23. Measure resistance of Violet wire between ABS control module 26-pin harness connector E23 terminal No. 5 and diagnostic connector No. 2 diagnostic switch terminal. See Figure and Figure . If resistance reading is infinite, repair open in Violet wire between diagnostic connector No. 2 and ABS control module. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If resistance reading is not infinite, go to next step.
  3. Measure resistance of Gray/Red wire between ABS control module 26-pin harness connector E23 terminal No. 4 and diagnostic connector No. 2 diagnostic output terminal. See Figure and Figure . If resistance reading is infinite, go to next step. If resistance reading is not infinite, repair short to ground in Gray/Red wire between diagnostic connector No. 2 and ABS control module. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  4. Measure resistance of Gray/Red wire between ground and ABS control module 26-pin harness connector E23 terminal No. 4. See Figure . If continuity is present, go to next step. If continuity is not present, repair open Gray/Red wire between diagnostic connector No. 2 and ABS control module. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  5. Reconnect ABS control module 26-pin harness connector E23. Measure voltage between diagnostic connector No. 2 diagnostic output terminal and good body ground point. If voltage reading is one volt or less, go to next step. If voltage reading is not one volt or less, check for Gray/Red wire shorted to Violet wire, power or poor connection. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  6. Check ABS control module 26-pin harness connector E23 terminals No. 4 and 5 for proper contact and connection. If connection is okay, check ABS warning light circuit. See TEST A: ABS WARNING LIGHT INOPERATIVE  , TEST B: ABS WARNING LIGHT STAYS ON  and TEST C: ABS WARNING LIGHT FLASHES CONSTANTLY  . If ABS warning light circuit is okay, substitute known-good ABS control module and repeat test. If ABS warning light circuit is not okay, repair as required.
