Od/Off Indicator Flashes

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1996 Suzuki Esteem. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Retrieve DTCs using "Flash Code" method. See FLASH CODE METHOD under RETRIEVING TROUBLE CODES . If OD/OFF indicator indicates a DTC, perform a visual inspection. See PRELIMINARY CHECK . If OD/OFF indicator does not indicate a DTC, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. Remove jumper wire from diagnostic connector. Turn ignition on. Using a DVOM, measure voltage between ground and diagnostic switch terminal (Green/Red wire) at diagnostic connector No. 2. See Figure. If reading is 4-6 volts, go to next step. If reading is not as specified, repair Green/Red wire for a short to ground. Retest system.
  3. Check TCM ground circuit. See step  2 in TCM POWER & GROUND CIRCUIT  under TCM CIRCUIT CHECK. Repair as necessary. If ground circuit is okay, substitute TCM with a known-good unit. Retest system.
