Auxiliary Heater Pipe Replacement

Preliminary Procedure 
  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to REFRIGERANT RECOVERY AND RECHARGING .
  2. Drain the cooling system. Refer to DRAINING AND FILLING COOLING SYSTEM (LY7 GE 47716 FILL) and DRAINING AND FILLING COOLING SYSTEM (LY7 STATIC FILL) .
  3. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to LIFTING AND JACKING THE VEHICLE .
  4. Remove the rear suspension support. Refer to SUPPORT REPLACEMENT (AWD VEHICLES) and SUPPORT REPLACEMENT (FWD VEHICLES) .
  5. Remove left rear inner wheel house liner. Refer to REAR WHEELHOUSE LINER PANEL REPLACEMENT .
  6. Remove auxiliary heat pipes from heater core. Refer to HVAC PIPE REPLACEMENT - AUX
    CAUTION: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .

    Tightening torque 

    20 N.m (15 lb ft) 

  7. Remove heat pipes from front heater hoses. Refer to FRONT HVAC PIPE REPLACEMENT - AUX .
  8. Remove A/C pipes from front A/C lines. Refer to AUXILIARY AIR CONDITIONING EVAPORATOR TUBE REPLACEMENT 

    Tightening torque 

    20 N.m (15 lb ft) 

  9. Remove heat pipes from front underside of vehicle. Refer to UNDERBODY HVAC PIPE REPLACEMENT - AUX .

    Tightening torque 

    4 N.m (35 lb in) 

1 Heat Pipes Attaching Nuts (Qty: 3)
Tightening torque 
9 N.m (80 lb in) 
2 Heat Pipes
Tip:  Reposition heat pipes accordingly to remove.
