July 1: So it begins. Don't worry, this is not in the correct legal jurisdiction!

Inspection Procedure

  1. Remove the left hand cowl side junction block (behind the left kick panel) fuse box opening cover. Remove the ECU-IG fuse (15-amp) fuse. Check the continuity of the ECU-IG fuse. If there is continuity, go to the next step. If there is not continuity, check for a short in all the harnesses and components connected to the ECU-IG fuse. See Figure.
  2. Disconnect the theft deterrent ECU connectors located behind the instrument panel. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS . Turn the ignition switch ON and measure the voltage. Connect the positive (+) lead to connector T6 terminal No. 13 (IG) of the theft deterrent ECU and the negative (-) lead to body ground. See CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . If voltage is 10-14 volts, check and replace the theft deterrent ECU. If the voltage is not as specified, check and repair the harness and connector between the theft deterrent ECU and battery.
