Balance Shaft Module: Installation

  1. Install the balance shaft into the engine block.

  2. Install the counterweight to the rear of the balance shaft. Tighten the bolt to 15 N.m (133 in. lbs) and then turn the bolt an additional 90 degrees.
  3. Turn the balance shaft so that the notch in the counterweight lines up with the mark on the engine block.

  4. Install the left cylinder head slide rails.
  5. Install the left cylinder head timing chain slide rail pins. (right side shown).
  6. Install the front cover. See INSTALLATION .

  7. Install the timing chain tensioner.

  8. Install the flex plate. See INSTALLATION .
  9. Install the engine. See INSTALLATION .

  10. Connect the remote battery terminal (1).
