Installing the spring strut
Install
- the spring strut in the car body with new nuts . Tighten to 25 Nm .
- the spring strut to the wheel spindle. Use new screws and new nuts
.
Adjust the spring strut and wheel spindle to the measured value. See Wheel knuckle / spring strut, calibrating .
NOTE:When replacing the shock absorber, the wheel camber alignment must be adjusted. See Wheel alignment, checking / adjusting .
Tighten to 105 Nm . Angle-tighten 90° . Use bevel protractor 9512050
- the anti-roll bar link to the spring strut. Use a new nut . Tighten to 50 Nm . Counterhold with a Torx wrench to prevent damage to the boot
- the ABS sensor.NOTE:
Ensure that the ABS sensor seat in the wheel spindle is completely clean. Clean the ABS sensor with a soft brush. Tighten the sensor. Tighten to 10 Nm .
- the ABS sensor cable
- the wheel. See Installing wheels .
