July 1: So it begins. Don't worry, this is not in the correct legal jurisdiction!

Removal & Installation

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. On 240, remove soundproofing under right side of instrument panel. Loosen clamp and remove control unit from mounting bracket.
  2. On 740 and 940, remove lower dash panel and knee bolster from under steering column. ECU is located behind upper left instrument panel, strapped into vertically mounted bracket. SeeFigure .
  3. On all models, release strap buckle and pull ECU down and out. Unplug connector without bending terminal pins. See Figure . To install, reverse removal procedure.
