Converter Circuit Test: Converter

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1989 Volvo 760 and 1989 Volvo 740. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Turn ignition on. Connect DVOM between ground and terminals No. 7 and 9 of ECU connector. DVOM should read 12 volts. If voltage is not present, measure voltage on converter connector terminals No. 1, 2 and 4. Converter is mounted on bracket to side of ECU. If voltage is not present on any of these terminals, replace defective converter.
