Maximum Steering Angle, Checking

The wheel alignment tester determines the maximum steering angle.

Condition

• If the value for the maximum steering angle is outside of the tolerance, or the steering wheel is tilted, then pay attention to the following:

-- Check the steering and suspension components for damage or deformations.

-- Check the tie rod symmetry.

-- Replace damaged components.

-- Measure the dimension -a- on both tie rod ends. Adjust the tie rod ends to the same dimension.

Condition

• The dimension -a- must be the same at the right and the left tie rod end
• The maximum tolerance between the left and right must be smaller than 2.5 mm

-- When returning the steering to its center position, let the steering wheel come to its center using even movements.
