Steering Intermediate Shaft, Removing And Installing: Installing

Install in the reverse order of removal, while noting the following:

Vehicles with seal

-- Make sure all four sealant locks are seated correctly in the bulkhead.

-- Make sure that it is correctly engaged by pulling on the seal bracing.

-- Perform a visual inspection and make sure it is seated correctly.

Continuation for all vehicles

Vehicles with bearing plate

-- Make sure the retaining plate and locking mechanisms in the bearing plate are seated correctly in the bulkhead.

-- Ensure the bearing plate fits securely by lightly pulling on the steering intermediate shaft in the direction of travel.

Continuation for all vehicles
