Threaded Pins, Replacing
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2025 Volkswagen Jetta. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
Replacing the weld screws, threaded pins, and weld pin with cap nut is described as an example.
The procedure is identical for all types.
-- Transfer the installation position of the threaded pins from the used part or mark using for example the ground cable location -arrow-.
-- Weld the threaded pins with two opposite weld seams -1- using a gas-shielded arc continuous weld seam.
- To ensure enough electrical conductivity, the length of the weld seam on the threaded pin must be at least 12 mm on each side.
NOTE:
To ensure the threaded pin is electrically conductive, the contact surface must be cleaned after completing the welding procedure.
