Driver Assistance Systems Front Camera R242, Calibrating, Dynamic

Preparing 

Condition

• Refer to: Necessity of Calibration .
• There may be no DTC memory entries present because they prevent the calibration.

-- Check the camera's field of view.

If the camera can no longer recognize the lane markings due to poor visibility, this could be caused by:

• Dirt or ice in the camera's field of vision.
• The camera's field of vision is fogged over.

Condition

• If there is heavy contamination on the inside of the windshield in the camera's field of vision, the camera's field of vision must be cleaned by hand. To do this, remove the camera and the lens. Refer to: Driver Assistance Systems Front Camera R242, Removing and Installing  Clean the windshield using a cleaning solution. Refer to: => Electronic Parts Information (ETKA).

-- Check sensor, brackets, and retainers for damage, external influences, and secure fit.

Calibrating

Condition

• The => Vehicle diagnostic tester is connected.

-- Perform the "driver assistance systems front camera calibration" function using the => Vehicle diagnostic tester. Refer to: Diagnostic Entries .
