Selector Shaft Seal, Replacing: Installing
Install in the reverse order of removal while noting the following:
-- Attach the seal by hand in a straight position and press in so far that the seal is secured.
-- Drive in the seal -arrow- using the Piece - Shift Rod/Alternator :VW423 -1- all the way, at the same time do not tilt the seal -arrow-.
-- Adjust the selector lever cable. Refer to Selector Lever Cable, Checking and Adjusting (Bolted Cable Retainer) , or Selector Lever Cable, Checking and Adjusting (Clamped Cable Retainer) .
