Engine, Securing To Engine And Transmission Holder
Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Lifting Support :2024B
- Lifting Tackle :3033
- Engine and Transmission Holder :VAS 6095A
- Shop Crane :VAS 6100
There is a risk of injury from the lifted motor falling.
The possibility for parts of the body to be pinched or crushed increases.
- Secure the mounting hooks and pins on the lifting tackle with a spring retainer.
Condition
- Use the Lifting Support :2024B for gasoline engines
- Use the Lifting Tackle :3033 for diesel engines
-- Refer to Engine and Transmission, Separating .
Vehicles with intermediate plate:
-- Remove the intermediate plate. Refer to Intermediate plate, removing and installing .
Continuation for all vehicles
Vehicles with 1.0 L Gasoline Engine:
-- Balance the center of gravity of the engine, for this, insert rails with holes into the holes -2- and -7-.
-- Engage the Engine Sling :2024B -C- onto the engine and onto the Shop Crane :VAS 6100 -A-.
-- Secure the all mounting hooks and pins to the rails with holes using spring connectors -B-.
Continuation for all vehicles
Vehicles with 1.5L Gasoline Engine:
-- Balance the center of gravity of the engine, for this, insert rails with holes into the holes -2- and -7-.
-- Engage the Engine Sling :2024B -C- onto the engine and onto the Shop Crane :VAS 6100 -A-.
-- Secure the all mounting hooks and pins to the rails with holes using spring connectors -B-.
Continuation for all vehicles
Vehicles with 2.0 L Gasoline Engine:
-- Balance the center of gravity of the engine, for this, insert rails with holes into the holes -2- and -8-.
-- Engage the Engine Sling :2024B -C- onto the engine and onto the Shop Crane :VAS 6100 -A-.
-- Secure the all mounting hooks and pins to the rails with holes using spring connectors -B-.
Continuation for all vehicles
Vehicles with 2.0L diesel engines:
-- Insert the spindles of the Lifting Tackle :3033 -B- at the positions -3- and -9-.
-- Engage the lifting tackle -C- at the Shop Crane :VAS 6100 -A-.
-- Secure the spindles -B- at the engine and align using the knurled nut.
Continuation for all vehicles
-- Lift the engine from the engine bracket using the workshop crane.
-- Remove the alignment sleeves.
-- Secure the engine with the pins -arrows- to the Engine and Gearbox Bracket :VAS 6095A -A-.
