Overview - Infotainment System
The Infotainment system contains the following functions / components:
- Information Electronics Control Module 1 -J794- behind the glove compartment
- Radio function is integrated in the Information Electronics Control Module 1 -J794-
- Front Information Display Control Head -J685-, 10.1 inch display in the center of the instrument panel
- Instrument Cluster Control Module -J285-, Display in Instrument Cluster
- The Control Module for Emergency Call Module and Communication Unit - J949- is located behind the display of the center instrument panel.
- USB Distributor -R293- in the front center console storage compartment, two USB ports for data and charging
- Sound system: Basic Sound, 8RL
- Bluetooth Hands-Free Calling, 9ZX

- The Digital Radio is integrated in the Information Electronics Control Module 1 -J794-, only for Europe/Rest of World and QV3/Q0D
- The Satellite Radio System is integrated in the Information Electronics Control Module 1 - J794-, only for North America and QV3
- Digital Sound System Control Module -J525- is located on the left rear side of the luggage compartment, 9VS only
- Pre-installed navigation with optional function activation, 7UZ
- MMI Navigation plus navigation system, 7UG
- Sound systems: Audi sound system, 9VD/Premium Sound System, 9VS
- TV-Tuner -R78- is located behind the instrument panel to the right, only for Japan and QV1

The data exchange of the systems in the MMI is done via the MOST bus, the CAN bus and the Ethernet.
Fault Finding is performed using the "Guided Fault Finding" on the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester .
Notes on MOST bus
The optical data bus "MOST bus" is used in addition to the CAN bus.
A fiber-optic cable is used. Fiber optic cables are routed inside corrugated tubes for protection.
Replace the complete fiber-optic cable if possible.
The front surface of the connectors must not be contaminated.
If disconnecting the connectors: Attach the Fiber-Optic Repair Set - Connector Protective Caps :VAS 6223/9 .
When routing fiber-optic cables, make sure not to go below the minimum bending radius of 25 mm. Do not crush or kink fiber optic cables.
