Windshield Wiper, Bringing Into Service Position

- If the windshield wiper motor is to be run during the procedure, the front lid must be completely closed, otherwise the power supply to the wiper motor will be interrupted.
-- Make sure the wiper blades are not frozen if there is a risk for frost.
Service position via windshield wiper switch:
-- Switch off the ignition.
-- Press the windshield wiper switch toward "one-touch wiping".
- The windshield wipers run in the "service position".
Service position via MMI:
-- Turn off windshield wiper.
-- Select the menu item "Service Position" via the multimedia system control head. Refer to Vehicle Owner's Manual.
- The windshield wipers run in the "service position".
Continuation for all:
CAUTION:
Risk of damaging the front lid by moving the windshield wipers back to the basic setting.
- Never maneuver a vehicle with the windshield wiper arms folded up.
TIP:
At a speed of 12 km/h (7.5 mph) or when operating the windshield wiper switch, move the windshield wipers back into the home position.
