Guidelines For Clean Working Conditions
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2025 Audi S3, 2025 Audi RS 3, and 2025 Audi A3 Quattro. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Even small pieces of debris can cause faults. When working on the fuel supply and injection system, observe the following guidelines for cleanliness:
- Before loosening, the connection points and surrounding areas must be cleaned thoroughly with engine or brake cleaner, and then the cleaned area must be thoroughly dried.
- Immediately seal off any open lines and connections with clean plugs, for example from the Engine Bung Set:VAS 6122 .
- Place removed parts on a clean surface and cover them with lint-free cloths.
- Carefully cover or seal opened components if repairs are not performed immediately.
- Only install clean parts: remove the replacement parts from their packaging just before installing them. Do not use parts that have been stored out of their original packaging (for example, in tool boxes).
- If the system is open, do not work with compressed air and do not move the vehicle.
- Protect the disconnected connectors from dirt and moisture and only connect when they are dry.
- Make sure no diesel fuel gets onto other components inside the engine compartment. Clean it off immediately if necessary.
