Electromechanical Parking Brake, Checking
Activating "T U V mode"
Condition
- The seat belt is buckled.
- Rear axle is in the one-axle roller test stand.
- Ignition switched on.
- Auto Hold is off.
- Front wheels stand still.
- The rear wheels must rotate for at least five seconds non-stop between 2.5 km/h and 9 km/h (1.6 mph and 5.6 mph)
Tip
"T U V mode" is indicated when the yellow Parking Brake Indicator Lamp -K139- is displayed.
Pressing the Electromechanical Parking Brake Button -E538- four times in a row gradually increases the tension force.
Tip
The electromechanical parking brake does not close completely the first time the button is pressed when the vehicle is in "T U V mode".
Operating the Electromechanical Parking Brake Button -E538- a fifth time loosens the electromechanical parking brake.
Ending "T U V mode"
Condition
- Speed of the front wheels is greater than 0 km/h (0 mph).
- Speed of the rear wheels is less than 2.5 km/h (1.6 mph) or greater than 9 km/h (5.6 mph).
-- Switch off the ignition.
