Selector Lever Cable, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Put the transmission in the "P" position.

-- Remove the center console insert. Refer to CENTER CONSOLE INSERT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Vehicles with diesel engines

-- Remove the air filter housing. Refer to the appropriate service information .

Continuation for all vehicles

Vehicles with Gasoline Engine

-- Remove the air filter housing. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Continuation for all vehicles

-- Remove the battery tray. Refer to BATTERY TRAY, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Vehicles with bolted cable bracket

-- Remove the cable retainer -1- from the selector lever using the Pry Lever :80 - 200  .

-- Remove the bolts -2-.

Continuation for all vehicles

Vehicles with cable bracket clamp

-- Remove the cable retainer -2- from the selector lever -3-, using the Pry Lever :80 - 200  .

-- Remove the clamp -1-.

Continuation for all vehicles

Vehicles with inserted cable bracket

-- Remove the cable retainer -1- from the selector lever using the Pry Lever :80 - 200  .

-- Press together the cable locking mechanism in -direction of the arrow- and remove upward from the cable bracket -2-.

Continuation for all vehicles

-- Remove the front heat shield. Refer to FRONT HEAT SHIELD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Put the transmission in the "N" position.

Vehicles with twist lock

-- Remove the plug -4-.

-- Remove the lock washer -2-.

-- Turn the locking mechanism -1- 90° in the -direction of the arrow-.

-- Remove the cable -3-.

Continuation for all vehicles

Vehicles without twist lock

-- Remove the cap -2- using a commercially available screwdriver -A- in -direction of the arrow- from the selector mechanism -1-.

-- Release the cable -3- and remove in -direction of the arrow A- from the selector lever -2-.

-- Remove the lock washer -4-.

-- Remove the cable -3- in the -direction of the arrow B- from the selector mechanism -1-.
