Windshield Projection Head Up Display Control Module J898, Removing And Installing: Removing

If the control module is being replaced:

-- Perform the necessary function/functions, using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester . Refer to Diagnostic Entries .

-- Position the steering wheel as far back and down as possible.

-- Remove the instrument panel/windshield projection head up display cover. Refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL/WINDSHIELD PROJECTION (HEAD-UP DISPLAY) COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING (GOLF MY 2020) , OR INSTRUMENT PANEL/WINDSHIELD PROJECTION (HEAD-UP DISPLAY) COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING (GOLF 2025) .

-- Move instrument panel noise insulation to the side.

-- Cover the control module with a soft cleaning cloth.

-- Remove the bolts -1- through -3-.

-- Pull the control module out until the connector -4- is accessible.

-- Unclip the clip -5- and free up the wire.

-- Disconnect the connector -4-.

-- Remove the control module.
