Emergency Release From P

Do not remove the handle.

-- Press the brake pedal or set the parking brake.

-- Open the storage compartment door.

-- Using both hands, reach into the shift lever boot on the right and left sides in the direction of -arrows- and unclip the shift cover -1- by pulling it upward.

-- Hold the shift cover to the side.

Emergency release, version 1:

-- Press on the yellow plastic part from above and hold it in this position.

Emergency release, version 2:

-- With a screwdriver push the plastic part -1- from the top and hold it in this position.

All Vehicles:

The solenoid releases the selector lever.

The selector lever cannot be moved out of >>P<<.

NOTE:

If the selector lever is shifted back into "P", the shift lock solenoid will mechanically lock the selector lever in the "P" position again. The solenoid must be released again.

CAUTION:

Risk of damaging the chrome frame

- The shift cover is equipped with a chrome frame. Never press on the chrome frame when inserting.

-- Insert the rear of the shift cover -1- first. Then engage in the center console at the front without pressing on the chrome frame.
