Maximum Steering Angle, Checking
The wheel alignment tester determines the maximum steering angle.
-- If the value for the maximum steering angle is outside of the tolerance, or the steering wheel is tilted, then pay attention to the following:
-- Check the steering and suspension components for damage or deformations.
-- Check the tie rod symmetry.
-- Replace damaged components.
-- Measure the dimension -a- on both tie rod ends. Adjust the tie rod ends to the same dimension.
Conditions
- The dimension -a- must be the same on the right and left tie rod end.
- The maximum tolerance between the left and right must be smaller than 2.5 mm.
-- When returning the steering to its center position, let the steering wheel come to its center using even movements.
