Fuel Delivery Unit/Fuel Level Sensor, Removing And Installing, AWD: Installing

Install in reverse order of removal.

-- Make sure whether the hose connections -arrows- to the fuel delivery unit -1- are sealed.

-- Check the fuel lines for restrictions kinks or blockages.

-- Check the fuel lines for leaks and damage.

-- Check the fuel tank and filter screen for contaminations.

-- Remove any contaminations.

-- Check the connectors and lines for secure fit by pulling on them.

-- Install the dry seal -1- into the opening in the fuel tank.

-- Make sure that the sensor floater arm is not damaged.

-- Coat the inside of the seal -1- with fuel.

-- Position the tab -2- in between the stops -3- and -4- -arrow-.

-- Push the sealing flange -1- downward against the spring force.

Condition

• The seal must not get damaged or crushed

-- Turn the sealing flange -1- in a way that the arrow -3- aligns on the fuel tank and the marking -2- on the sealing flange -1-.
