Selector Lever Cable, Adjusting

Always adjust the selector lever cable if:

• The cable was removed from the transmission.
• The engine and (or) transmission were removed and installed.
• The selector mechanism was removed and installed.

Adjusting

• The battery and battery tray are removed.

-- Move the selector mechanism in the vehicle into "P".

-- Push the cable retainer -1- forward in the -direction of the arrow A- and then lock in the -direction of the arrow B-. The cable retainer -1- is now detached from the cable -2-.

-- Lock the transmission jack in the P lever position. The lever on the transmission must be moved all the way in the direction of the cable bracket -arrow- at the same time.

-- To check, rotate both front wheels in the same direction and at the same time until the parking lock engages audibly.

• The parking lock is engaged when it is not possible to rotate both front wheels in the same direction at the same time.

-- Turn the cable retainer -1- in -direction of the arrow A- and release the tension on the spring -direction of the arrow B-. The cable -2- is adjusted.
