Engine, Securing To Engine And Transmission Holder

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

Procedure 

-- Remove the intermediate plate. Refer to Fig 4.

-- Remove the left alignment sleeve from the cylinder block.

-- Unlock the retaining tab -arrow- and remove the left engine cover mount -1-.

-- Unclip the right engine cover mount -1-.

-- Engage the Engine Sling:2024A  -item 1- as shown on the engine lifting eye and on the Workshop Crane:VAS 6100  -item 2-.

CAUTION:

There is a risk of injury from the lifted motor falling.

The possibility for parts of the body to be pinched or crushed increases.

- Secure the mounting hooks and pins on the lifting tackle with a securing pin.

-- Insert the securing pins -arrows- to secure the mounting hooks and alignment pins.

-- Secure the engine to the Engine and Gearbox Bracket:VAS 6095A  -item 1-.

Assembling

Assemble in the reverse order of removal. Note the following:

-- Insert the left alignment sleeve at the cylinder block.

-- Install the intermediate plate. Refer to Fig 4.
