Securing On Engine And Transmission Holder

Special tools and workshop equipment required

Holding Fixture :VW313
Holding Fixture :VW540
Engine and Gearbox Bracket :VAS6095A
Shop Crane :VAS6100

Remember there is fluid in the transmission. Do not turn the transmission with the vents facing downward when transporting or when it is on the assembly stand. The fluid will leak out.

NOTE:

Remove the bleed cap if necessary and seal using suitable oil-tight plugs.

-- Secure the transmission on the :VW540 -1-.

-- Secure the transmission on the :VW540 -1- with the bolts -arrows-.

-- Use the :VAS6100 to insert the transmission in either the :VW313 or the :VAS6095A .

WARNING:

The center of gravity of the transmission is outside the center of rotation on the holding fixture. To prevent back swing, a second technician must hold the transmission when rotating the transmission on the Holding Fixture :VW313 .
